All abilities on stage at South Street
THE Royal South Street Society eisteddfod will stage their All Abilities Performing Arts competition in the coming days.
To be held at the Ballarat Specialist School Farm on Norman Street, the two-day comp on 28 and 29 August is designed to attract and encourage entrants from schools and performing arts studios from across the city, and Victoria.
Vocalist, and the founder and conductor of the Choir of Hard Knocks Jonathon Welch is heading up to Ballarat to support the performers, watch, and give feedback.
“I’m so honoured and excited to be adjudicating the inaugural Royal South Street Society All Abilities Performing Arts section for Royal South Street,” he said.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to shine in a supportive and safe environment, and I can’t wait to see all the talented entrants in this wonderful new section.
“We are going to have so much fun as well.”
Mr Welch is also a former RSSS competitor, having sung in the Herald Sun Aria section. The RSSS Vocal and Choral Competitions will also be staged next week.
“Royal South Street Society, hosted in Ballarat, has a rich history in contributing to the performing arts,” RSSS business operations manager Tennille McLauchlan said.
