School Bands Extravaganza to sound

August 15, 2024 BY

The School Bands Extravaganza is coming up next week and will raise funds for the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre.

ONCE again, the students from schools around the Ballarat area are coming back together for the annual School Bands Extravaganza on Wednesday 21 August.

Lions Club of Sebastopol & District’s Ron Thomas said that there are a lot of good school-aged musicians in the Ballarat area.

“The night is a good opportunity for the school bands to showcase themselves in front on an audience, and to meet with others of their age who have the same musical interests,” he said.

The night is not a competition in any way as the band members have come together to enjoy themselves.

The night gives the Lions Club an opportunity to raise funds for the Wellness Centre at the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre and is a win-win event for the school bands and the Lions Club.

The concert is expected to run for about two hours therefore enabling families to attend and not have a late night.

The school bands taking part this year are from Ballarat High School, Phoenix P-12 Community College and Mount Clear College.

The venue is the Robinson Centre at the Ballarat High School, starting at 7pm and the cost is $5 for adults and gold coin donation for those under 15 years.

Any information about the night can be supplied by phoning Mr Thomas on 5336 0425.
