BALLARAT Mini Friends miniature doll group will be holding their annual fair at Brown Hill Hall this October.

The fair is designed for miniature enthusiasts and will include a range of mini items for sale, as well as a raffle which will be a chance to win a tiny dollhouse.

the fair organiser Gwen Jarvis said the event is the only of its kind in regional Australia.

“We have a lot of interstate traders and it’s a very popular fair,” she said.

“Very few miniature fairs are held in Australia and we are the only one outside a capital city so the interstate traders find it’s very beneficial for them to travel a long way.”

Ballarat Mini Friends is a group that caters for those interested in mini dolls and items which go inside a dollhouse.

The group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month and Brown Hill Hall where they can work on projects together and share ideas.

“We’re just a group of friends who get together and we make miniature dolls houses and the miniature furniture to go in them and bits and pieces,” said Ms Jarvis.

“It’s also the company and enjoyment of meeting people who are as interested as we are.”

She encouraged anyone who currently makes miniatures or who may be interested in starting to connect with the group.

“I love making them and sharing them as I’ve always taken the opportunity of learning anything that’s been available and I’m always very prepared to share it and take their ideas on board as well,” Ms Jarvis said.

“I find that it’s a great hobby as I’ve always made dolls but people say they run out of room so go to the smaller scale.”

The Ballarat Mini Friends annual fair will be on Saturday 28 October from 10am to 4pm with a $4 entry fee.
