Sports zone springing into action
TAKE your marks and get set for playful family fun as this year’s SpringFest sports zone will be packed with activities.
Sponsored by Barry Plant Real Estate, the zone will be in the North Gardens and have something on offer for sports-lovers to try and enjoy as part of the market Sunday event.
Inside will be a Western Bulldogs entertainment area with football inflatables, arts and crafts activities, and giveaways, as well the Ballarat Basketball hoop trailer, and Western Victoria Football Academy interactive space.
Ballarat Rugby Club members will offer children the chance to give that sport a go, and Special Olympics Ballarat volunteers will be on hand to showcase the unifying and inclusive power of sport.
Barry Plant staff, including CEO Shane Finch, are set to man their own stall, offering facepainting, massages, and showbags.
“We love Ballarat, we love the community events that bring people together here, and we love being a part of it all,” he said.
“This is our community, and it’s the reason why we live here, so it matters to us to support the people that make it great.
“We encourage lots of kids to come along and get active. We’re looking forward to getting to know everyone while we’re at SpringFest.”
SpringFest will be held on Sunday 26 November along the roadway of the gardens precinct at Lake Wendouree, between St Aidans Drive and Carlton Street.
The festival is a Rotary Club of Ballarat initiative raising money for community beneficiaries, and local and international Rotary projects.
