Students’ water posters will make artistic splash
IN conjunction with the Australian Water Association, Central Highlands Water is running their annual poster competition in celebration of National Water Week, coming up in October.
Primary aged children are encouraged to create a poster inspired by the theme of Reimagining our Water Future.
CHW asks them to think about water as a part of their life, how it is important to them, how they use it, how they can protect it, use it wisely and sustainably.
CHW chair, Jeremy Johnson said it’s crucial that the next generation gain an early understanding of water’s role in our built and natural environments, and look ahead.
“It is so important for young people to imagine the future of the water they use in their daily lives,” he said.
“They are already finding innovative ways to live sustainably and use water efficiently. Their ideas will shape the future of our valuable water resources.”
Any mediums can be used, whether digital or physical. Each poster should be developed individually, not in a group, and A3 in size. Entries can be scanned and emailed into CHW or posted.
Submissions will be channelled into five categories; foundation, years one and two, years three and four, years five and six, and all-abilities students.
Successful poster artists will receive a Rebel Sport gift voucher, and their work may be sent off for statewide judging.
