SUSTAINABILITY organisation Green Earth Kids are launching a children’s creativity and wellness centre known as the Well in February.

The space in Ballarat East is purpose built for children with wet areas, natural light, a kitchenette and off-street parking.

Weekly eco craft and play sessions will be held on site as well as holiday programs and children’s parties.

“Our values are really about being inclusive, creative, and collaborative,” said founder Miree Hanock.

“It will also have that real sustainability focus so the whole thing will have no disposable or single use plastic and we will have a veggie garden and composting.”

Ms Hancock founded the business which offers sustainability workshops and ecofriendly products four years ago.

“I started Green Earth Kids mostly because I am passionate about the environment and helping and inspiring people to look after the planet,” she said.

“I was a nanny for over a decade and in that time, I realised there is so much waste in raising children and entertaining children.

“I thought there’s got to be a better way.”

Th space is also being offered for hire to people or groups that run classes like yoga, meditation or mindfulness sessions, as well as children’s music and art therapists, NDIS therapies and children’s allied health specialists.

“I really want it to be this hub where the community can come in with children of all different ages and abilities,” said Ms Hancock.

“I am looking for anything that’s child related in allied health or complimentary services.

“There’s beautiful space where people can come in and run their own classes.”
