Take a Highland fling at the Castle
A TASTE of the Scottish Highlands is coming to Kryal Castle this August with a range of historical entertainment offerings.
The Highland Spectacular will feature pipe bands, highland dancing, clan tents and Caledonian food and drink.
There will also be performances by Scottish warriors along with knights and their horses.
“Families and history enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore traditions and the rich heritage of Scottland,” said Chantelle Taylor, the Kryal Castle marketing director.
“The two-day experience is really a spectacular which captures Scottish culture,”
On Friday and Saturday night, the festival will feature a four course Scottish feast of broth, roast meats, vegetable medleys, haggis, tatties, neeps and clootie dumplings.
Ms Taylor said the experience will have something for everyone.
“We’ve got a jammed packed program to suit all ages with Highland games, bagpipe bands, and fantastic Scottish dancing classes,” she said.
“There will be a highland cow in attendance to meet and greet and highland ponies. There is so much going on, it’s incredible.”
The festival will bring something new to the region and aims to showcase Scottish culture.
“We’ve had many requests for a Scottish festival from our guests and visitors, so we thought what a great idea to hold one in regional Victoria,” said Ms Taylor.
“It’s a celebration of shared culture and an invitation to appreciate the spirit of Scotland.
“The Highland Spectacular promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience.”
The festival will be held from Saturday 19 august until Sunday 20 August. To view ticket prices and to make a booking visit kryalcastle.com.au.
