The show goes on…
WHILE the Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society (BAPS) won’t host the Ballarat Show this weekend as its new Mount Rowan showgrounds are developed, the committee is still offering some of its regular and popular events and competitions.
The public can enter craft, cookery, flowers, photography, and kids colouring competitions which will be displayed at a viewing day led by BAPS volunteers, the Ballarat Horse Show will present equestrian showcases, and a young agricultural leader will win the annual Rural Ambassador Award.
The annual BAPS Ballarat Wine Show was also recently held, in October.
“While we are saddened to pause the Ballarat Show in 2024, we are thrilled to keep many of our beloved events and competitions alive this year, celebrating the spirit of our community,” BAPS joint president Kerri Gallagher said.
Co-president Matthew Menhennet said next year will see a full return of the Ballarat Show at its new forever home, the Ballarat Showgrounds and Events Centre at 6 Rosehill Road, Mount Rowan.
“Our new location at Mount Rowan will offer us more space and opportunities than ever before,” Mr Menhennet said.
“We can’t wait to share the stunning setting that will enhance our events for the whole community and offer Ballarat an exciting new events space.”
A BAPS statement thanked the community for its understanding and support during the transitional period.
