Town Hall’s big doors open again
IN a sure sign that things are starting to return to normal, the doors at Ballarat Town Hall are once again open to the public for the first time since late March.
The move came on Monday and sees the visitor centre again welcoming people, while just across Bath Lane on Armstrong Street South the Phoenix building is also offering limited in person access municipal services.
“Ballarat Town Hall has been at the centre of social and community life in Ballarat since the first Town Hall was built in 1856,” said mayor Cr Daniel Moloney.
“It’s fantastic that we can reopen the doors to the community again to provide a range of limited face-to-face services for our residents and visitors.”
However other things are not yet back to pre-COVID conditions, with City of Ballarat staff still working remotely where possible and council, committee and staff meetings staying online for the foreseeable future.
