Training provider up for top award
The category looks at all aspects of training delivery, and the awards recognise the achievements of organisations, students, apprentices, trainees and teachers who contribute to the state’s TAFE and training sector.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and collective impact of Federation TAFE’s work across our community and it’s an honour to be shortlisted in such a competitive field,” Federation TAFE chief executive and pro vice-chancellor, VET and pathways Darren Gray said.
“We are putting students at the centre of everything we do, providing them with meaningful qualifications that are aligned to industry needs and getting them into jobs sooner through our co-operative education model.”
Federation TAFE has growing enrollments in priority areas such as healthcare, community services, construction, clean economy, digital economy, agriculture and advanced manufacturing, and is also attracting students from regional and remote areas.
“We are proud to be acknowledged for our work in serving not just regional areas, but the rural and remote communities of Western Victoria where we’ve been able to increase our reach and impact,” Mr Gray said.
Certificate III Baking student Stavriana Taliadoros has also been named a finalist in the school-based apprentice trainee of the year category.
The winners will be announced on Friday 19 September.
