TRVIA for a cause will be held at the Queen’s Head hotel this May.

Twin Hearts is a Ballarat based organisation which raises funds for smaller groups and initiatives which don’t get significant support.

A portion of donations also goes towards sister charities in Tanzania as founder Kelly-Louise Austin spent several years working there.

Ms Austin said she hopes to bring positive change to the community she grew up in.

“I am very passionate about my town and my community,” she said. “I love to help the local small organisations and causes that perhaps don’t get the funding, recognition or help that other large organisations get.

“I have spent time working and living in Kenya and Tanzania, and I am extremely passionate about helping to break the poverty cycle for women and children around the world, and Twin Hearts is my way of doing so.”

So far, the group has raised more than $26,000 and last year the organisation donated $10,000 to groups such as Cops ‘n’ Kids, Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute, Food is Free Laneway, Shower Bus, Little Bendigo Primary School, Love your Sister and Girls Not Brides Tanzania.

The Twin Hearts trivia afternoon will be held on Saturday, 6 May at 2.30pm with a high tea provided.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at twinhearts.org.au.
