UNITED Australia Party leader Craig Kelly was in Ballarat last week while on a whistle-stop tour of regional Victoria meeting with his party’s Federal election candidates.

Meeting at the Eureka Stockade Memorial Gardens, Mr Kelly caught up with local UAP hopeful Terri Pryse-Smith as well as voters with queries, and party followers.

“It’s great to be here in Ballarat to support Terri. It’s a Labor seat that’s been taken for granted for a long time. We’re here to offer the public a real alternative,” he said.

“The party has 150 candidates around the nation. I’m travelling around to give the supporters encouragement, and an opportunity to ask questions of me.

“The best advertising is word-of-mouth… so talking to myself gives them a lot more confidence to go out and talk.”

Now just over two weeks from the election, Ms Pryse-Smith relished the opportunity to meet community members, hear concerns, and connect with potential volunteers.

“Craig’s visiting regional towns to get a feel for what the general vibe and the zeitgeist is in each area, and people still have a lot of questions to ask us,” she said.

“We’ve got 61 polling booths in Ballarat, and I’m seeking volunteers to man them all, from Trentham, down to Meredith and Lethbridge.”
