IT’S not long until the Ballarat Jobs and Training Expo returns to the Civic Hall and the Goods Shed with more than 80 organisations and employers involved.

The event, organised by BGT Jobs and Training Ballarat, is designed to provide job and education-seekers with an opportunity to talk to industry professionals, take part in workshops and network.

“It’s a great opportunity to come along to see lots of exhibitors from Ballarat and surrounding areas,” BGT Jobs and Training Ballarat general manager Emma Hart said.

“It’s open to anybody from students to parents and people looking for work.

“It’s great because it’s a one-stop shop where everyone can see a lot of industries.”

Expo attendees can discover information about live job vacancies, apprenticeships and traineeships, and volunteering opportunities.

“We have a very involved seminar program and that is in the theatre at the Goods Shed,” Ms Hart said.

“We have various seminars on apprenticeship and traineeship programs, a career at the City of Ballarat, the emerging workforce in renewable energy, healthcare career journeys, women in trade and the future in AI.

“We’ve also got some great workshops such as barista workshops and workshops run by Platinum Institute in the Civic Hall.”

Ms Hart said one of the key benefits about the expo was that everything was in-person.

“People can speak to exhibitors face to face and get more information on what careers are available,” she said.

“It just gives people a lot more opportunities to look and see what’s available and have a chance to get involved.”

Attending the expo is free and tickets can be booked on the Ballarat Jobs and Training Expo website. The event will be held on Friday 26 July.
