THE BGT Ballarat Jobs and Training Expo is returning to The Goods Shed today, Friday 25 July, with opportunities to explore careers, training, and employment pathways.

It is the largest event of its kind in the region, expected to attract more than 1500 visitors.

Attendees can chat with representatives from a range of industries, training providers, employers and community organisations from Ballarat and the surrounding region.

“It’s a free event open to anyone looking for job vacancies, apprenticeships, traineeships, volunteering opportunities, training opportunities, seminars and workshops,” BGT Jobs and Training interim CEO Emma Hart said.

“It’s a chance for visitors to come along and meet local employers, training providers and get expert career advice.”

Some of the exhibitors will be the Australian Defence Force Careers, Ballarat Community Health, Barkly Hair Institute, and Federation University.

New this year is the World Skills event which will showcase trades through live demonstrations and hands-on displays.

“Anyone attending will come away with fresh ideas, new contacts, and opportunities to take their next step,” Ms Hart said.

The event is delivered in partnership with the City of Ballarat and is sponsored by Accenture, Lateral Plains, Orora, the Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education and Workforce Australia.

The expo is on from 10am until 4.30pm. To register for a free ticket, visit the BGT Jobs and Training website.
