TOP of the table Western United are set to play two A-League Women games at Moorshead Park in Ballarat in the coming week.

First up on Saturday, 4 February United take on 9th placed Perth Glory before tackling the 10th placed Newcastle Jets on Wednesday, 8 February.

Recent Canadian signing Danielle Steer scored her first goal for United in their 5-0 rout of Canberra last weekend and is eager to get back into the action and keep the momentum going.

“I think we are all excited coming off a game with a lot of goals,” she said.

“It’s always nice looking forward and seeing that we can have multiple people on the score sheet and we can win games in that way.”

Steer only recently signed for United over the Christmas break and got her first taste of Ballarat just a few weeks ago on a trip with teammates.

“It was great and we all had a lot of fun,” she said. “I had obviously never heard of Ballarat or been there before.

“We got to see the zoo, which was very exciting for me, getting to see a lot of local Australian wildlife was super fun.”

After a large run of away games Steer said the team is excited to get to Ballarat for the back-to-back games this week as they look to consolidate their spot on top of the ALW table.

“We are excited, we have been on the road the past couple of weeks taking flights every weekend so having a game a little closer to home is definitely a nice feeling,” she said.
