Veterans celebrate newborn’s arrival

ALTHOUGH 2020 has been unlike any year previous, some traditions have remained. On Tuesday, 18 August, also known as Vietnam Veterans’ Day, the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia Ballarat Sub-Branch gifted a teddy to the first baby born in Ballarat for that 24 hours, as they do annually. Arriving at 9.29am at St John of God Hospital, that newborn was Thomas Alexander Coutts, son of Lisa and Alex Coutts. Mrs Coutts received a bunch of flowers from the Sub-Branch.
