Wall of mirrors for Warriors
THE Southern Warriors Karate Club have received another financial boost to support the development of their Doveton Street home base.
A HomeSolution Helping Hand grant from Metricon worth $1000 was recently awarded to the club.
“We wasted no time spending the grant funds,” said Dojo operator Camilla Barker. “We have installed a wall of mirrors which is a fantastic training tool as it assists the students with correcting their techniques and stances.
“We are extremely grateful to be one of the sporting clubs in the region to be awarded this grant and our students are already seeing the benefits.
“Thank you to the team at HomeSolution by Metricon for making this upgrade to our facility possible.”
HomeSolution brand and sales manager Glenn Cooper said the club is a deserving one with students of all ages and skill levels.
“Seeing firsthand what a wonderful role this club plays within the community, fostering confidence and resilience, we were absolutely thrilled to be able to assist the club with their facilities upgrade,” he said.
The funding program aims to help provide funding for sporting groups.
Each grant round seeks to cover essentials like equipment, uniforms, coach or volunteer training, accessibility improvements or operational costs.
“We know how much can be achieved with $5000 dollars, which is why we offered five $1000 grants to fund grassroots sport and active recreation clubs and organisations across Ballarat,” Mr Cooper said.
