WARRENHEIP Tennis Club has received the only ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Community Grant in the region this round.

Ballarat ANZ branch manager Ben Neil presented a $10,000 cheque to the grassroots sports group last week, which will fund the building of a storage and shelter shed.

This facility will support the Club’s Hot Shots program which aims to establish and strengthen the tennis skills of between 40 and 50 local children from age five to 15.

Club president Sarah Tustin was grateful to be one of 10 successful applicants within this grant round.

“Hot Shots is our only program, so this is very important for us. Because of this grant, our young people will have shelter from the Ballarat weather,” she said.

Mr Neil was pleased to see a local Club receive a financial boost.

“We’re beyond thrilled that Warrenheip Tennis Club has been chosen to receive the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots community grant. We thank them for applying and congratulate them on their success,” he said.

“The Warrenheip Tennis Club is a wonderful part of our community and a great supporter of ongoing grassroots tennis.

“ANZ have been a proud sponsor of tennis in Australia since 2010 through the sponsorship of the Australian Open and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots. We’re committed to growing the sport.”

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley welcomed the facility’s improvement.

“This is a great opportunity for Warrenheip Tennis Club. We look forward to seeing Warrenheip Tennis Club prosper and we’d like to thank ANZ for its ongoing support of tennis in our community and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program,” he said.
