White Night set for 2024 return
WHITE Night is set to return to Ballarat for the first time in five years with its interactive illuminations, projections, and music.
The announcement was made earlier this week by the State Government with the event aiming to boost jobs, hospitality, and the wider economy in the region.
The event will take place on Saturday 1 June 2024.
The last White Night held in Ballarat in 2019 attracted more than 40,000 visitors and a statement from the Government said it created $2.8 million for the economy.
“Once again, White Night will transform the heart of our city through installation, lighting, exhibitions, street performances, film, music, dance and interactive events,” said Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison.
The event will be run in conjunction with the City of Ballarat and mayor Cr Des Hudson said he is looking forward to the event’s return.
“We are thrilled to welcome White Night back to Ballarat for the first time in five years,” he said.
“Ballarat absolutely comes to life for this brilliant event, which will showcase our fantastic city in awe-inspiring fashion.
“I encourage people to put the date in their calendars now and get ready for what promises to be a magical evening.”
It is hoped the event will have widespread benefits, encouraging visitors to stay in Ballarat and visit hospitality venues, accommodation and other tourist attractions.
The last regional White Night was held in Geelong had a record 93,000 attendees.
