BALLARAT Basketball Association players on rep duty in Canberra have done well, with Georgia Amoore’s part of the Victorian Under-20 Women side that came away with a national championship.

Amoore had 12 points her side’s 77-64 defeat of New South Wales and averaged just under nine points a game throughout the tournament.

“Certainly, with the players we had on our roster, the biggest challenge we had was for everyone to play well together,” Victorian U20 Women head coach Dee Butler said.

“We had a great week, we certainly knew New South Wales were going to be a lot tougher, they progressed and improved a lot and I think they were the most improved team at the tournament, and it was a good challenge for us.”

Ballarat’s other representative at the event was Laura Taylor who played seven games.
