Bulldogs camp comes to Ballarat
WESTERN Bulldogs players were in Ballarat earlier this week as part of the AFL’s Community Camp series.
From Monday to Wednesday, Doggies players took part in junior football clinics, held an open training session and signing event at City Oval, and visited the Ballarat Base Hospital Paediatric Ward and children’s emergency department.
Marcus Bontempelli, Tim English and Rory Lobb met scientists at the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute in Ballarat’s CBD.
“The Western Bulldogs players enjoy coming to Ballarat, the club’s second home for the Community Camp and it is wonderful to visit so many school, junior clinics and hospital visits for children and for our local community to get up close and personal to their AFL heroes” Ballarat engagement manager Campbell Waring said.
“The Bulldogs next year will mark the ninth year of playing home games in Ballarat and we are increasingly seeing lots of red, white and blue across the city, which is so great to see.”
The wider tour also included visits to Ararat, Stawell and Horsham, where players met students at 37 schools.
