IT’S the biggest day on the footballing calendar in Ballarat, with the reigning premiers East Point looking to go back-to-back against the ultimate underdog in Sebastopol in the McDonald’s Ballarat Football League grand final.

The matchup is one of those game from the neutral that everyone wanted to see, with the Kanga juggernaut back in red hot form and the fairy-tale story of Sebas getting back into the grand final for the first time in 19 years.

East Point head in as favourites with two comprehensive victories over the Burra in the home and away season plus a spirited fight back win only three weeks ago in the qualifying final.

Sebas have had a much tougher run to the biggest day of the year, with crippling injures plaguing star players throughout the finals series and having to endure tough come from behind matches against Redan and Melton respectively to reach the big day.

It is the best offence verses the best defence with the Kangaroos having no doubt more speed and x-factor in the likes of Jake McQueen, Jacob Brown and Cam Lovig up forward.

The Kookaburras will be looking to their leaders in this one with the likes of Tony Lockyer crucial in the Burra’s chances down back in nullifying any fast-paced offence that East might throw their way.

It will be a big night at the selection table for Burra coach Leigh Hutchinson who has the likes of James Keeble, Brett Goodes and Marshall Cain all putting up their hand to return from injury.

For Jake Bridges on that front, Bryson McDougall is the obvious choice to be recalled with his versatility a vital piece in the Kangas getting over the line in this one.

Prediction – Logic says East Point… Heart says Sebastopol.
