Country Week rolls into the city

CENTRAL Wendouree Bowling Club was the venue for the Ballarat District Bowls Division Men’s Country Week held between 11 and 14 February.

Teams from across the region, consisting of 36 pairs, 21 triples and 17 fours contested events.

Pairs winners were Allan Currie and Geoff Fraser from Invermay, with runners up Laurie Judd and John Dellavedova representing Clunes.

Triples was won by Learmonth’s Tim Griffen, Craig Findlay and Ross Powell and second were a combined squad of Chris Ward from Bungaree and Jai Chamberlain and John Matusik out of Creswick.

The Fours was won by a rink from Waubra, L Mullane, Bill Harrison, Greg Loader and Bob Williamson. Runners up went to Glen Stowe, Ken Johnson, Bill Dunn and Paul Beechey from Learmonth.
