The Annual Country Week Carnival was held at the Central Wendouree Bowling Club recently.

Thirty-six pairs of men and seven pairs of women made it to the final, with Mark Powell and Craig Findlay from Learmonth victorious by one shot over Sam Cashin and Lawrence Cashin of Waubra.

The women’s final was contested between two Daylesford pairs with Maureen Tate and Wendy Goodwin successful over Halcyan Bell and Margaret Coffee by three shots.

Twenty-two triples teams played off in the men’s event with John Moroney, David Carlyle and Peter Shillington from Invermay successful by three shots over John Matusik, Ross Proctor and Steve Hepworth out of Creswick.

In the women’s triples five teams competed with Margaret Coffee, Wendy Goodwin and Maureen Tate from Daylesford defeating Barb Adams, Sue Lafranchi and Miriam Haines of Smeaton by eight shots.

The fours saw 14 men’s teams and four women’s sides. The successful men were made up of Jeff Douglas, Ian McGregor, Steve Gollan and Norm Hand from the Buninyong Club defeating Steve Fitzgibbon, Chris Powell, David Pike and Bill Rowe from Learmonth by three shots.

The women’s final was won by Buninyong’s July Pobjoy, Yvonne Gamble, Julie Worrall and Yvonne Clark who defeated Daylesford’s Margaret Coffee, Wendy Goodwin, Halcyan Bell and Maureen Tate.
