Gordon returns to Miners
FORWARD Ella Gordon has re-signed with the Ballarat Miners for this year’s NBL1 South season.
The 20-year-old played in the team last season under coach Kennedy Kereama, and she received a full contract on the roster of the Adelaide Lightning for this WNBL season.
Gordon, who is six foot, two inches, said she is looking forward to returning to the Miners. “I’m super excited and keen to come back to Ballarat and play for the Miners again,” she said.
“Coming off a WNBL season I know that being back at Ballarat and having Kennedy as my coach will be the best for my future and I’m super grateful for this opportunity.
“I am also very excited to have the chance to once again to chase a Championship after being so close last year.”
Kereama said he is eager to see Gordon’s progress this season.
“I’m excited to have Ella back for a second season with the Miners,” he said.
“Ella really started to find great form throughout the NBL1 season and has carried that momentum into a WNBL opportunity in Adelaide.
“With that experience, I’m eager to see her continue to progress her game and contribute to our success this coming season.”
Gordon joins Micah Simpson in returning for the upcoming season as well as new recruit Opal Bird.
