LAST season’s grand final opponents Redan and Darley will face off when the BFLW senior women’s competition bursts into action tomorrow.
The grand final rematch will be the third leg in a triple-header of matches involving all six senior women’s teams at Marty Busch Reserve in Sebastopol. The action gets underway at 11am when Bacchus Marsh takes on East Point.
That game will be followed by a clash between Lake Wendouree and Carisbrook at 12.55pm, with the Redan-Darley contest scheduled for 2.55pm.
Tomorrow’s final game will mark the beginning of the Devils’ campaign to secure a hat-trick of premiership flags after going back-to-back last year with their 3.4 (22) to 2.3 (15) victory over Redan at Eastern Oval.
The triple-header will be Opening Round of the 2025 season, and will be followed by all age groups playing in Round 1 on Sunday 30 March.
Those age groups include under-12, under-14, under-16 and under-19 competitions.
Darley will still be on a high after a successful 2024, with captain Lilli Condon being named the league’s best and fairest player in August.
She was also among six Devils players to be named in the league’s team of the year, while Kim Bessell won the leading goalkicker award.
The 2025 season will have 16 rounds.
