Jump from the gates to start the new year
NEW Years Day racing is back at Burrumbeet providing a great way for family and friends to kick off twenty twenty four.
The 134th Pacific Fuel Solutions Burrumbeet Cup will be a day full of racing, fashions on the field and family friendly activities.
“It’s a tradition now and families have been going ever since they’ve been born and they look forward to the day,” said club manager Jeremy Rogers.
Waubra Football Club will be running a barbecue and there will be a range of free children’s activities including a jumping castle, ninja warrior course, face painting and farm animals.
Marquees and umbrellas for 10 people are also available for purchase.
“It’s a great family day and there’s plenty to do for the kids with free entertainment,” said Mr Rogers.
“It’s a good day of country racing and a good time to catch up with family and friends.”
This year there are some new additions to the event including a members’ area and a live band.
“We’re going to have a brand-new members area which will have easy access to a bar and umbrellas,” said Mr Rogers.
“We will also have a live band after the races at about 7.30pm.”
Mr Rogers said he hopes attendees have a great day and will want to return year on year.
“I just hope when people walk out the gate after the day they say ‘I just cant wait to come back next year’,” he said.
