THE Selkirk Ballarat Rush have announced American Alisia Jenkins will be joining the squad for the 2020 NBL1 South season.

If that name sounds a bit is familiar is because Alisia is the younger cousin of 2019 import Chanise Jenkins, who’s also set to return this year.

A 181cm power forward, Alisia’s been playing for TFSE-MTK in Hungary with her cousin.

There Alisia’s lead the Hungarian A-Division in both average points at 21.9, and rebounds at 12.2, per game.

“I’m so excited to be part of the Selkirk Ballarat Rush this season playing in the NBL1 South,” she said. “I’ve also heard so many great things about the community and heard the fans energy and atmosphere is electrifying.”

Rush head coach Eric Hayes said he was looking forward to seeing Alisia’s work in the paint.

“We are very excited to have Alisia join the Selkirk Ballarat Rush for 2020 and it is great to have a super talented player that wants to be part of the program,” he said.

“Alisia is a super athlete that is a relentless rebounder, she runs to floor like a guard and she is fantastic finishing around the basket.

“She will be a great piece for our team this season as she is can play many position on offence and guard many positions on defence.”
