Krause joins Miners
GUARD Aiden Krause will join the Ballarat Miners for this year’s NBL1 season.
Krause, who hails from Mackay, has experience from his collegiate career in the United States and in NBL1 North.
Krause began his collegiate journey at the University of California, Irvine for the 2019 to 2020 season.
Throughout the 20 games he averaged 3.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game, and an 86.4 per cent free throw percentage.
Krause then returned to Australia and played for the Mackay Meteors in the NBL1 North conference where they reached the finals.
He said he is looking forward to continuing his career in Ballarat.
“I can’t wait to get to Ballarat this season and compete for a championship,” he said.
“I’ve heard great things about the program, fans and the town, and after meeting Luke [Brennan, coach] and knowing a few of the boys already, it was an easy decision for me.
“I can’t wait to get stuck in and hopefully help the Miners go one step further in 2025.”
Basketball Ballarat CEO Nev Ivey said Krause will make a significant contribution to the squad.
“Signing Aiden aligns with our strategy to bring in players who not only have the talent but also the character to represent Ballarat with pride,” he said. “We’re confident that Aiden will be a significant contributor to the Miners’ success in 2025.”
The season will begin on Saturday 29 March.
