Rebels named in Vic Country squad for AFL U18 Champs

Three Greater Western Victoria (GWV) Rebels players have been named in the Victoria Country squad for the opening match of the 2025 Marsh AFL National Championships – U18 Boys.

Talor Byrne (Koroit), Harley Hicks (Lake Wendouree), and Archie Taylor (Cobden) will represent the region when Vic Country takes on Western Australia on Saturday, June 7 at Mineral Resources Park.

The trio’s selection continues the Rebels’ strong record of contributing to the state’s top junior representative side and underscores the talent emerging from western Victoria.

Byrne and Taylor bring speed and skill across the ground, while Hicks adds toughness and composure behind the ball.

The Championships will see Victoria Country face off against South Australia, the Allies, and Victoria Metro, with the top team after the round-robin series to be crowned national champion.
