NEWLY founded Woady Yaloak Football and Netball Club is inviting junior sports stars to their come and try session on Sunday, 9 February.

Footy players under 9 and netball champs aged between 5 and 10 are welcome to attend the event, which will be held at 10am until 12pm at the Haddon Recreation Reserve.

On the day, registration will be available for the under 9s football season, Woady Yaloak Auskick, as well as Net Set Go, with Netball Victoria coming down to get involved.

Club President Adam Liversage said he aims to provide sporting opportunities for young people in regional areas around the municipality.

“It’s about supporting our local communities, not just Haddon and Smythesdale but also Cape Clear, Scarsdale and Ross Creek,” he said.

While there will be some costs for registration, Mr Liversage said that the prices will be kept low, so that all kids can join the fun.

In future, the club hopes to participate in all levels of the juniors football season, from under 9s up to under 17s and hopes to introduce two under 11s netball squads in 2021.

Until then, Auskick will start on Sunday, 15 March, Net Set Go on Sunday, 19 April alongside the under 9’s footy team which also commences in April.

As a bonus, all kids who register on the day have a chance to win one of three $50 Rebel Sport gift vouchers. Those who have already registered can bring along their registration email on Sunday to enter the competition.
