A culinary Eureka moment to savour
BORROWED from ancient Greek εὕρηκα, the word eureka means “I have found it!”.
And that’s how the owners who started the cafe feel and how the customers who dine at Lilly’s at Eureka feel when they find it.
Nestled inside the Eureka Centre that houses the historic Eureka flag and named after her daughter Lillian, owner and chef Catherine Gill has worked tirelessly to make her dream come true.
With the support of her husband and family, and the community it has not only survived it has flourished.
Despite COVID-19 and an economic downturn, Catherine has managed the business to the success it is today through great customer service, exceptional food, and innovative thinking.
“In life as it is in cooking, flexibility and being creative is what makes the difference,” said Catherine. as she meticulously prepares the food with her trusted team.
“When I started the business two years ago in a different location there was just myself and my husband who has supported me and believed in my dream.
“Today we employ eight people apart from us and we are preparing to expand into our next location by the end of this financial year.”
Lilly’s at Eureka customer’s have really appreciated the commitment to quality, sustainability and flavour and this attitude has built up a loyal following of locals that dine at Lilly’s and take in the fantastic views of the Eureka Stockade Memorial Gardens that are overlooked from our gorgeous patio.
The cafe provides clients with great food, great service and a great space to take in the day.
We are expanding the business now into the CBD and providing a high quality inexpensive take away cafe that provides office workers world class food.
An army marches on its stomach and we want our customers to be healthy and happy so we do our part.
The new business will also provide catering for corporate lunches as well as creating boutique picnic baskets for two or more that can be consumed on a rug in the park.
From the very start of the day Lilly’s at Eureka coffee is ground from freshly roasted beans from Cartel Roasters that bring a divine coffee creme taste to the palate.
That’s complimented with the exquisite home-made cakes and lollies inspired by the life experiences of Catherine.
Whether you are looking for an early morning coffee, a simple lunch, a romantic picnic for two, a boardroom lunch or just a simple getaway from the maddening crowd then Lilly’s at Eureka and the CBD store should be a destination cafe you must put on your agenda.
