SHINE Learning has been in operation for eighteen months and in that time has grown from a one-person operation to currently having eleven tutors on-board.
The team at Shine teach more than 85 children from two locations within the City of Ballarat.
At Shine Learning, they believe that every person learns differently and along their educational journey, they may require assistance to succeed and reach their full potential.
Shine Learning offer support for everyone that walks through their doors with tuition in general English and maths for all ages, as well as VCE.
They are a specialist one-on-one tutoring service, with all students having individualised sessions and structured learning plans based on their needs and priorities.
Shine are a leading specialist in the Sounds Write Program, an evidenced based phonics system, taught worldwide.
Sounds Write is capable of delivering exceptional improvements in spelling, reading and writing for all ages.
Shine Learning aims to promote growth and improvement of the individual and the team specialise in private tutoring, explicit instruction and effective learning strategies.

In an exciting development, Shine Learning has developed a card resource called WIZ WORDS, that supports the Sounds Write program.
This card game has been endorsed by Sounds Write UK who have also come on-board as a partner in the resource.
Shine Learning has been working with Sounds Write UK over the past 12 months, with WIZ WORDS expected to be launched in the near future.
This engaging card resource, assists with spelling, reading and writing in a fun, engaging and systematic way, resulting in meaningful learning. It will be distributed world-wide.

Meet the Shine Learning Team!
Miranda Donald, Sounds Write specialist. Miranda has enjoyed being a teacher for the past 25 years, she strongly believes in a hands-on, multi-skilled teaching style.
Carley Young, maths specialist. Carley is a fully qualified and registered teacher, specialising in maths and science. Carley hopes to assist all of those who take part in her engaging lessons.
Jessica Micallef, generalist teacher. Jess is a fully qualified and registered generalist teacher (primary years) who has been teaching for 10 years.
Violet Cotsell, tutor co-ordinator and literacy specialist. Violet is currently studying to be a Secondary English/LOTE teacher at Deakin University. Alongside private tutoring, she also works for Deakin University as a literature tutor for first-year students.
Bianca Gerrard, maths and English. Sounds Write trained, Bianca is qualified to teach from prep to year 10.
Bryony Donald, maths and English. Bryony Donald is currently studying Counselling. She is Sounds Write trained and has two years’ experience in tutoring.
