Photo: EDWINA WILLIAMS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I essentially saw a gap in the market, but I&#8217;m also passionate about this type of pottery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Pottage will just host pottery painting sessions to start, however Sherritt has a goal to grow the workshop space&#8217;s uses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m hoping to expand it to other artists who would like to do their own workshops here and whether they want to collaborate with pottery,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 598px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/04\/20240420_1348231_18245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"449\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Some of Shelby Sherritt&#8217;s pre-prepared work decorates the house.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would love for it to be a space for artists because sometimes it&#8217;s hard to find hire spaces or spaces to work from on a budget. Photo: EDWINA WILLIAMS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sherritt is a high-profile potter with about 1.9 million followers on TikTok, and invited many members of Ballarat&#8217;s creative community to a soft launch of The Pottage last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>They were able to have a sweet treat and drink, wander around the brick house&#8217;s different rooms, and paint their own ceramic mug.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s wild to have everyone here,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I just wanted to show local artists, creatives, and small businesspeople, and see if there&#8217;s ways we could potentially collaborate in future, or if there&#8217;s ways they might like to use the space.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Although it&#8217;s a space I&#8217;ve worked on, I want it to be for everyone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bookings are now open at <a href=\"https:\/\/thepottage.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thepottage.com.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/04\/20240420_133501_40343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new business is ready for visitors to throw their aprons on and start painting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A PAINT-YOUR-OWN pottery experience is opening in a little brick house in Redan.
