APPLICATIONS are invited from community groups and organisations for a share of the sixth round of the Moorabool Wind Farm Community Fund.<\/p>\n
Applications for the Community Scholarships are also open.<\/p>\n
The community fund is an annual initiative with approximately $260,000 in funding each year for the entire life of the wind farm.<\/p>\n
The aim of the Community Fund is to financially support initiatives and projects that make a positive and enduring contribution to the local community.<\/p>\n
The Fund is split into three streams: Community Grants, Community Scholarships and scholarships in partnership with Federation University in Ballarat.<\/p>\n
“Since 2018 Moorabool Wind Farm has contributed over one million in funding to over 50 local projects, through grants, donations and scholarships,” said stakeholder engagement manager, Goldwind Australia on behalf of Moorabool Wind Farm, Paul McMahon.<\/p>\n
“In 2023 we were proud to support six local individuals with<\/p>\n
scholarships to support their education.<\/p>\n
“Each year we are amazed to see what initiatives people put<\/p>\n
forward for funding.<\/p>\n
“The local community is full of wonderful ways to show how dollars can be turned into lasting value for the community.”<\/p>\n
Funding applications for Community Grants will be considered across four main sectors<\/p>\n
\u2022 Public Health and Well Being<\/p>\n
\u2022 Environmental Sustainability<\/p>\n
\u2022 Skills and Education<\/p>\n
\u2022 Recreational and Cultural Activities.<\/p>\n
Applications for funding are open to any not-for-profit or incorporated community-based organisations with projects located up to 10 kilometres from the wind farm.<\/p>\n
All applications will be assessed on their merits, based on related benefits to the community, perceived suitability, the applicant’s background and<\/p>\n
proximity to Moorabool Wind Farm.<\/p>\n
Applications for Community Scholarships are welcomed to support costs of attending and undertaking education (e.g. course costs, study related materials or tutoring).<\/p>\n
Applications are open from any age, any level of education (e.g. high school, tertiary or upskilling) and will be awarded based on merit irrespective of financial need.<\/p>\n
Guidelines, the application form with further information and details about how to apply can be downloaded from the Moorabool Wind Farm website.<\/p>\n
The closing date for applications is 3pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024.<\/p>\n
The Community Fund Committee, consisting of community representatives, will review all submissions received by the closing date.<\/p>\n
