CONSTRUCTION on the Ballarat Southern Trunk Sewer Project remains on schedule, with installation in the Smythes Creek area recently reaching the halfway point.<\/p>\n
The pipeline works will aim to cater for future population growth, with the city expected to be housing 160,000 people by the year 2040.<\/p>\n
The project is costing $3 million and involves the construction of nearly two kilometres of pipe made from glass reinforced polymer.<\/p>\n
“Central Highlands Water is pleased to share the positive progress with 50 per cent of the pipeline now installed as part of the Ballarat Southern Trunk Sewer Project,” said Central Highlands Water managing director, Jeff Haydon.<\/p>\n
“With the forecasted population growth in Ballarat, this pipeline will support further land development for residential housing in Smythes Creek, Delacombe, Bonshaw and Winter Valley, located within the Ballarat West Growth Area.”<\/p>\n
The pipeline will assist the Pinnacle and Cherryside Estates, connecting to the Cherry Flat Road Sewer Pump Station, which is also under construction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
