FOR children needing to burn off some energy and learn some new skills during the mid-year school holidays, Basketball Ballarat has an opportunity.<\/p>\n

The Ballarat Junior Miners Holiday Camp will return in the first week of July at Selkirk Stadium.<\/p>\n

Basketball Ballarat junior development co-ordinator Zack Cummins said children of all genders and abilities from age five to 14 are invited to get active and shoot some hoops.<\/p>\n

“Improve your skills, develop techniques, enhance your game, meet new friends, and ultimately have fun,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Our camps cater for the beginner who has never picked up a basketball to the most experienced 14-year-old in the land.”<\/p>\n

Young people who take part will be able to gain instruction from professional coaches, develop new basketball skills and learn new ways to train and practice playing the game.<\/p>\n

Basketball Ballarat’s aim is to provide an inclusive and structured learning environment at the camp, while also setting up more informal, fun playing opportunities.<\/p>\n

Attendees can expect to learn about how to be a good teammate, how to support players around them, and they will get to meet and play with Ballarat Miners basketballers along the way.<\/p>\n

The winter camp is set for July 1 and July 2, and July 10 and July 11 from 9am to 3pm. Registrations are now open.<\/p>\n
