THE circus has been in town for the last few weeks, with travelling entertainers set to take their final bows this weekend.<\/p>\n

Regaling audiences since mid-May, Silvers Circus is set to close out their local show at Morshead Park this weekend.<\/p>\n

The current run marks the circus’ first time in Ballarat since before the pandemic, and representative Simon Tait said there has been lots of audience interest.<\/p>\n

“It’s been very, very well received and it’s been filling up so it’s advisable to book while you can,” he said.<\/p>\n

“This time around we’ve got a comic, Walison Muh who was a runner-up on Australia’s Got Talent.<\/p>\n

“We’ve of course got the Wheel of Steel, two thrill seekers running up a giant wheel around the tent. There’s our old standard, the Globe of Death, aerial acts, a wonderful juggler from Brazil. It’s a very complicated setup.<\/p>\n

“People on this side of COVID now want to get out, I think they’ve been a little bit starving for entertainment.”<\/p>\n

Operating for nearly 50 years, Silvers Circus has traditionally set up tent at the Ballarat Showgrounds, but with work underway to relocate the venue, Morshead Park has became the new venue.<\/p>\n

Tait said it’s been a wonderful alternative.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t have to adapt at all,” he said. “The location is beautiful, flat, and visible which is very important for a circus because you need to be seen.<\/p>\n

“Every time we come up to Ballarat, our show’s changed considerably. We try and spice it up all the time.”<\/p>\n

Silvers Circus’ local run concludes tomorrow following a show tonight at 7.30pm and Saturday performances at 10.30am, 2.30pm, and 6.30pm.<\/p>\n
