THE Ballarat North Trunk Sewer Project is nearly completed with one kilometre of sewer pipeline installed.<\/p>\n
The Central Highlands Water team will now start pressure-testing the pipeline and undertake CCTV camera inspections and commissioning.<\/p>\n
The project is designed to ensure the Ballarat Northern Growth Area has suitable wastewater infrastructure.<\/p>\n
“The Ballarat North Trunk Sewer is an important project, providing essential services to the region and as part of the Ballarat Northern Growth Area,” said Jeff Haydon, managing director of Central Highlands Water.<\/p>\n
“With 6000 houses planned in this area, securing the wastewater needs is vital to supporting upwards of 15,000 new residents to the Ballarat community.<\/p>\n
“This project is a great example of Central Highlands Water’s partnership approach, working with the City of Ballarat and other important stakeholders on a proactive integrated wastewater management plan.”<\/p>\n
The pipeline will connect to the existing network at the Ballarat North Reclamation Plant where the wastewater is treated to become class A recycled water.<\/p>\n
This water can be used to irrigate local recreation reserves.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat Showgrounds’ new premises in Mount Rowan and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Mount Rowan office will connect to the new pipeline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
