THIS Sunday some of Ballarat’s best piano students will perform in the Synod Hall of the Anglican Cathedral.<\/p>\n
The free concert will have a range of music from the eighteenth century, including Scarlatti, Chopin and Debussy, and more modern styles.<\/p>\n
Piano teacher Bronislaw Sozanski said it will be an entertaining afternoon for everyone involved.<\/p>\n
“The last 100 to 200 years people have really enjoyed the piano, just listening to the sound of it,” he said. “People find it very entertaining and enjoyable, it’s the style of music.”<\/p>\n
The concert has been a part of the Ballarat music calendar for more than 20 years and aims to provide students with performance experience as well as allowing them to share their talents with the community.<\/p>\n
Hannah Cao from Ballarat Grammar, Benjamin Bi and Jayden Chen from Ballarat Clarendon College, and Camila Gonzalez from Pleasant Street Primary School will be performing.<\/p>\n
“It gives the students an opportunity to play in a formal concert atmosphere,” said Mr Sozanski.<\/p>\n
“It also, very importantly, gives the students awareness they are providing something for the community, it’s not just about their development and their skills. “It’s about sharing music with the whole community.”<\/p>\n
The concert will begin at 2pm on 28 July, with afternoon tea to follow.<\/p>\n
