{"id":104682,"date":"2024-07-26T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=104682"},"modified":"2024-07-24T14:58:06","modified_gmt":"2024-07-24T04:58:06","slug":"modern-facilities-for-little-learners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/modern-facilities-for-little-learners\/","title":{"rendered":"Modern facilities for little learners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Sebastopol South Kindergarten refurbishment project has been unveiled providing a fit-for-purpose facility for more than forty children a day.<\/p>\n<p>Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison was joined by City of Ballarat mayor Cr Des Hudson and Eureka Community Kindergarten Association CEO Joanne Geurts to tour the facility last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The project was funded with $500,000 from the State Government and more than $60,000 from the City of Ballarat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our littlest learners at the Sebastopol South Kinder deserve a bright, beautiful and safe learning environment,&#8221; said Ms Addison.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By modernising and expanding this kindergarten, we are delivering on our best start, best life reform and ensuring all children gain the academic and social benefits of kinder.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The works included adding a covered outdoor area to increase learning opportunities and extending children&#8217;s amenity areas into the veranda to include changing tables.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/07\/Juliana_80411.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison tried out some instruments at the refurbished Sebastopol South Kindergarten.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>New adult and children&#8217;s height wash basins were also installed as well as upgrades to heating and cooling systems and the addition of more storage.<\/p>\n<p>Cr Hudson said its important local children have access to the best kinders.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is vital we ensure that children at our centres have access to quality early learning, kindergarten and schooling that meets their needs,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thankful for the State Government for their substantial investment in this project are very proud to help deliver it for the families of Sebastopol.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This collaborative project is one of many which have recently been completed in Sebastopol including the Sebastopol Library Small Spaces Community Garden, the Urban Forest Update and completion of MR Power Park Upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>Work is currently being undertaken to implement the Marty Busch Reserve Master Plan and to construct the Sebastopol Community Hub.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Sebastopol South Kindergarten refurbishment project has been unveiled providing a fit-for-purpose facility for more than forty children a day.
