A COLLABORATION between Federation University Australia and Commerce Ballarat is providing an opportunity for local businesses and students to speak to leading entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
The program will feature Federation University alumnus professor Murray Gillin, adjunct professor and CEO of Ararat Regional Council Dr Tim Harrison, and six experienced entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
Mr Gillin said an entrepreneurial mindset was about creating benefits for the whole community, rather than simply making money.<\/p>\n
“If you participate in what I call real, serial, purposeful entrepreneurship it will be a culture change but it’s a culture change which is good,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s being able to say, we’ve given these people learning and knowledge and value, to which they will then turn into benefits to the community.<\/p>\n
“The essence is that you become someone who wants to make it happen for the benefit of others.”<\/p>\n
Attendees will learn about developing a nuanced understanding of the human entrepreneur mindset, intellectual, spiritual and emotional intelligences, how to create and build an entrepreneurial culture in teams, and the four dimensions of an entrepreneur.<\/p>\n
“We’re available to support anyone who wants to enhance their capacity to actually achieve success is making their thing happen or in being involved in a company that’s extending,” Mr Gillin said.<\/p>\n
“We’re not only looking at startup businesses, that’s just one aspect; we’re also looking at a number of small businesses and even larger corporations who want their staff to actually develop the entrepreneurial capacity within the company.”<\/p>\n
Federation University Vice-Chancellor and president, Professor Duncan Bentley, said the course would help drive growth within the region.<\/p>\n
“Federation University is delighted to collaborate with Commerce Ballarat to bring some of Australia’s leaders in entrepreneurship to help Ballarat businesses and staff and students at the university to develop entrepreneurial mindsets,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Ballarat will drive economic growth across the Central Highlands and surrounds and it is essential that we build the entrepreneurial capability to do so by bringing together business and the university.”<\/p>\n
The course will take place on 16 and 17 September, 7 and 8 October, and 28 and 29 October from 9am to 1pm with a light lunch included. It will be held at Federation University’s SMB campus and will cost $340.<\/p>\n
Upon completion of the course, attendees will be awarded a digital certificate of completion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
