{"id":105297,"date":"2024-08-16T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-15T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=105297"},"modified":"2024-08-14T16:30:34","modified_gmt":"2024-08-14T06:30:34","slug":"futsal-young-guns-win-silver-at-worlds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/sport\/futsal-young-guns-win-silver-at-worlds\/","title":{"rendered":"Futsal young guns win silver at worlds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BALLARAT Futsal Club &#8211; Vic Country Warriors 10s squad has won siver at the World Futsal Championships in Florida, USA.<\/p>\n<p>The juniors represented the club and Ballarat at the tournament hosted by United Futsal USA, which featured about 450 teams from America, South America, the United Kingdom, Spain and Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The Vic Country Warriors 10s beat SSA Futsal South Florida two goals to one in the semi-final, and won their silver against Alianza FC from New York who kicked five goals to the Warriors&#8217; one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our team did the club and region proud,&#8221; said Futsal Ballarat director of coaching Dermott Tebb.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The boys have had an amazing experience and showed they could match it against some of the best in the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/08\/Worlds-SilverTeam_40876.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Silver medallists Dermott Tebb, Harrison Moore, Billy Greig, Mitchell Messemaker, Max Robinson, Ryan Marriott (back), Henry Rogan, Harvey Gardner, and Fletcher Stevens (front).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are so proud of this group. To achieve a silver medal at a World Championship event is an outstanding result for the group and tops off an amazing futsal and life experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The club is delighted with this result.
