THE completion of the roundabout at the intersection of Dyson Drive and Ballarat-Carngham Road marks the end of the State Government’s Keeping Ballarat Moving program of works.<\/p>\n
An estimated 700 vehicles use the intersection every hour during peak times.<\/p>\n
The six projects, which cost $60.8 million, aimed to improve Ballarat traffic hotspots, particularly in the growing west.<\/p>\n
“Locals have told me how much easier it’s been to get around since this $60.8 million package was completed, and I thank the community for their patience while these works were underway,” said Member for Ripon Martha Haylett.<\/p>\n
Other works included in the program were new traffic lights at La Trobe Street and Wiltshire Lane, Wiltshire Lane and the Glenelg Highway, Albert Street and Hertford Street, Albert Street and Docwra Street, and Gillies Street and Gregory Street.<\/p>\n
The program also included the duplication of Albert Street between Queen and Docwra streets.<\/p>\n
“This has been a great win for our community,” said Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison.<\/p>\n
“We’re already seeing the impact this new roundabout at Dyson Drive and Ballarat-Carngham Road on easing congestion in the growing suburbs of Alfredton and Lucas.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
