THE Ballarat Miners have been named the NBL1 Club of the Year at the annual league awards night.<\/p>\n
The award is given to a club which has exceeded performance expectations over areas such as community engagement, game night experience, stadium amenities, attendance and membership numbers, and administrative adherence.<\/p>\n
CEO of Basketball Ballarat, Neville Ivey, said it was exciting for the club to be recognised for their initiatives.<\/p>\n
“It was an honour to accept the award on behalf of the organisation,” he said.<\/p>\n
“This achievement reflects a team effort by management, staff and volunteers including committee members and the directors of the Board who provide guidance and a supportive environment.”<\/p>\n
The awards night, which was held earlier this month, saw representatives from each club come together to celebrate this season’s achievements.<\/p>\n
Mr Ivey, along with Luke Rosendale, Tyler Rudolph, Chloe Bibby, Abbey Wehrung, Chris Thornton, Joel Anderson and Lydia Brooks represented the Miners.<\/p>\n
Wehrung won Defensive Player of the Year while Rudolph and Bibby were named as part of the all-star five.<\/p>\n
The award win comes after the Ballarat Miners played the victorious Eltham Wildcats in the NBL1 South grand final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
