MORE-than six-hundred-and-fifty members of the Ballarat business community have celebrated their achievements at the Federation University Commence Ballarat Business Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n
The event, held at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre last Thursday night, highlighted the finalists and their delivery of high quality products and services.<\/p>\n
CEO of Commerce Ballarat, Jodie Gillett said it was great to see enterprises like Federation University Business of the Year Chris Packer & Associates supporting local.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir moto is investing back into the community they\u2019re in,\u201d said Ms Gillett.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we heard all night was businesses saying, ‘let\u2019s support each other, let\u2019s be there for each other, let\u2019s buy from each other,’ and nothing can make me happier.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite challenging economic conditions, Ms Gillett said it\u2019s essential to celebrate the positive aspects of business.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe business environment has been so incredibly difficult for the last four years so any time we can lift them up just a little bit and tell them, you\u2019re doing an amazing thing, is important,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven for the people who aren\u2019t here tonight, they will see the winners and finalists and they\u2019ll feel lifted up as well and that\u2019s what we need to do at the moment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to make our businesses know how important they are to us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Gillett encouraged other local businesses who may feel inspired to apply for the awards next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not just about this night we\u2019re having here, it\u2019s about the process you go through, it\u2019s about looking at your businesses plan, looking at your back end,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
