THE annual Ballarat Seniors’ Festival program has been released, with a month of free and low-cost activities on offer in October.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme is Explore. Engage. Evolve. and it encourages older people to try something new and challenge how they think about ageing.<\/p>\n

The program includes community events, come and try sessions, the Get Connected! Seniors Expo, and the Victorian Seniors Festival Country Concert.<\/p>\n

At Learmonth, the Bowling Club will be hosting come and try sessions on Friday 11 and 25 October from 1pm.<\/p>\n

Club president Craig Findlay encouraged the community to get involved and try something new.<\/p>\n

“It’s very much a community club, we have a lot of wonderful members from around the Learmonth District and it’s a very social environment,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It’s a great opportunity to draw some attention to activities that anybody really, young or old, can get involved in.<\/p>\n

“We have a number of bowlers within the club that are in their 80s and they love it.”<\/p>\n

Holders of a Victorian Seniors Card can also receive a week of free public transport from Sunday 6 October until to Sunday 13 October.<\/p>\n
