A THIRTEEN-piece group performing classic songs from the 1960s and 1970s is bringing their hit-laden show to the region tomorrow night.<\/p>\n

The 60 Four are stopping off at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts as part of their first-ever national tour.<\/p>\n

One of seven stops on the circuit, the band’s producer and singer Ben Francis said he’s excited to return to the region.<\/p>\n

“We had such a great time in Ballarat last year and it was such a great audience,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’re a self-produced band from South Australia and we’ve only been doing this a few years on the national circuit so a lot of people took a chance on us.<\/p>\n

“That was really positive and we were really appreciative. I know a lot of people from last time are coming again.<\/p>\n

The 60 Four were formed nearly a decade ago at Adelaide’s Scotch College and currently consists of four vocalists as well as an all-Victorian nine-piece backing band.<\/p>\n

Their set tonight will include renditions of classic songs from acts like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, The Bee Gees, Johnny O’Keefe, and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.<\/p>\n

Francis said their set has been overhauled since their previous visit.<\/p>\n

“It’s a new show,” he said. “That’s one of the great things about being a 60s and 70s band, there’s so much music to choose from.<\/p>\n

“Every year, we kind of switch up our set, so for people who came last year it’s a whole new show.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a couple Motown hits and favourites we haven\u2019t done for a while like Dion and the Belmonts. We\u2019re also bringing a lot more Aussie artists like Sherbert and John Paul Young.\u201d<\/p>\n
