UPGRADES have been delivered to RACV’s electric vehicle charging stations in Ballarat, with works to follow at other sites throughout Victoria.<\/p>\n
The Ballarat site, at 61 Curtis Street in the central business district near Big W, is now comprised of two new 50-kilowatt and two new 350-kilowatt charging stations.<\/p>\n
The local outlet is the first in the state to feature the upgrades, with the additions set to be on the way for seven other Victorian locations.<\/p>\n
RACV general manager energy services Greg Edye said the upgrades are about providing a better charging experience for electric vehicle drivers across Victoria.<\/p>\n
“The upgrades will not only provide a faster, more reliable charging experience, but also enhance the security of the site,” he said.<\/p>\n
Upgrades are scheduled to take place for RACV’s charging stations at Horsham, Euroa, Airport West, Barnawartha North, and Moe, as well as at the organisation’s Victorian resorts and club venues.<\/p>\n
The improvements are part of a broader initiative from RACV to boost the capabilities of their statewide charging network by the end of the year.<\/p>\n
A statement from the company acknowledged the inconvenience made to electric vehicle drivers in the region during the upgrades.<\/p>\n
“RACV acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the recent unavailability of the Ballarat chargers and thanks drivers for their patience,” the statement said.<\/p>\n
“The chargers had been offline due to various technical issues, including vandalism, which has prompted the installation of additional security measures, such as CCTV.”<\/p>\n
