A BUSINESS and cultural hub has opened in the centre of Ballarat, designed to help Victorian Aboriginal businesses, students and artists flourish.<\/p>\n
Minister for Employment Vicki Ward announced the opening of the Wadawurrung Aboriginal Economic Hub, which was largely created by the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.<\/p>\n
“Wadawurrung is excited to offer a dedicated space for First Nations entrepreneurs,” said Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation CEO Matthew Smith.<\/p>\n
“We extend our gratitude to the Victorian Government for their support and investment.”<\/p>\n
The hub is designed to be a safe space for Indigenous businesses, entrepreneurs and students to network, collaborate and access resources.<\/p>\n
Aboriginal artists can use the space to exhibit and sell their work.<\/p>\n
“It’s fantastic to see this hub come to life, which has been designed and created by traditional owners to meet the needs of the local Aboriginal businesses, artists, students and communities,” Ms Ward said.<\/p>\n
“Ballarat’s Wadawurrung Aboriginal Economic Hub will support Aboriginal Victorians to share knowledge and skills, develop greater economic independence and create more economic opportunities that strengthens Ballarat’s prosperity.”<\/p>\n
The project was funded by the State Government’s Yuma Yirramboi (Invest in Tomorrow) Strategy, supporting four hubs across Victoria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
